We emphasize owner handlers taking an active role in the training of their service dogs
Obedience Foundation
We help you put a serious foundation of obedience on your dog, as this is half of the equation of a successful working service dog. We adapt our techniques to your abilities, but we keep the bar very high for service dog candidates. We want you to be able to troubleshoot their skills in the real world, not rely on a program.Â
Task Training
We help you develop a plan for task training. As we are executing that training, we adjust our techniques and approach based on what is working and what isn't. We are here to get the job done, and to teach you how to do this for yourself so that you will always be able to get a dog working properly for yourself without years of waiting and tens of thousands of dollars.
Dog Selection
Based on your needs, we advise you as to what kind of dog is going to be suit your tasks. We can also help you find a good dog. We will get you started on the path to socializing your new service dog prospect and starting them correctly. You always own your dog. If you already have a dog, we assess them for compatibility and do remedial work they need if they are compatible with your needs.Â

About Service Dog Training Tulsa
Do You Certify service dogs who are already trained?
I am willing to take on owner-trained dogs and help finish them properly with their handlers, but I will not hand out a certification (because they don't technically exist and paid "certification" is a scam). I will only support dog/handler teams that can demonstrate true competence in their skills.​

Can you train a service dog for me?
I will only work with dog/handler teams where the handler is involved in the entire service dog process. I will sell a "started" dog who understands obedience, but that dog is thereafter your responsibility.Â

Do you train dogs of unusual breeds for service dogs, such as pit bulls?

To a point, if the dog is extremely suited to your tasks and works exceptionally well, then exceptions can be made but the utilization of difficult breeds for service dog work is more often more troublesome than it's worth.Â

Do you certify emotional support dogs?

Do you certify therapy dogs?
​
Therapy dogs work in group settings to be calm, such as hospital and nursing home visits. We can certainly get your dog ready to do that sort of work, and ensure that you are properly insured, with assessments such as the AKC Canine Good Citizen Advanced title. Therapy dogs do not have the same job as service dogs.Â
